Secondary School Admissions
These pages are useful if you are wanting to apply for a place at a Secondary School.
If your child is born between 1 September 1998 and 31 August 1999, he or she will be due to start secondary school in September 2010.
The move from primary to secondary education is an important time in every childs education, you and your child are probably looking forward to it with a mixture of excitement and worry!
Applications will be allocated using Equal Ranking - this means that all preferences put down on your common application form will be treated equally. However, we will try to meet your highest ranked preference.
Our aim is to help make the move a smooth and simple one. An information booklet is available to download below - this may help to answer the questions and concerns parents often raise about admission to secondary school, it also provides useful information about your rights and extra information about secondary education, which you may find useful.
Our Choice Adviser is now in post and you can view details on our website under the tab Choice Adviser.
Staff in our Admissions Section deal with school admissions and transfers, and the officers there will be pleased to answer any questions or concerns you may have. You can contact the Admission Section by phoning (01642) 526605. You can also make an appointment to see a member of the admissions staff if you prefer.
