Primary-Secondary School Transition Event & Video Directory

Write to Read has given teenagers the opportunity to plan and develop a series of free-time activities for younger children in their local area. The activities included children helping to organise transport, catering, budgeting, water sports activities and outdoor challenges at Preston Park.

The purpose of the project was to enhance transition between primary and secondary school, increase community togetherness and improve awareness of planning and enterprise skills.

The young people have taken joint responsibility for planning and budgeting the activities. The young people have also created publicity material and a video directory of the process for evaluation.

If you are interested in taking part or require further details contact the Write to Read team on tel: 01642 731983.
