Neighbourhood Renewal
Have you heard of the Education & Young People
Intervention 2004-2006?
Funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit through Stockton Renaissance, the Intervention aimed to:
- Improve the range of services and activities available in target communities for children and young people (particularly in the 8-13 age range)
- Foster a culture of mutual respect between young people and older residents within local communities
- Develop a way of making the information on what is available, where and when more accessible to local communities and service providers
- Support the achievement of the national education floor targets
The focus for the intervention was determined through consultation with local residents as part of the Neighbourhood Renewal Local Action Planning process.
The funding saw a number of new events and activities taking place, such as football coaching and break dancing.
