Financial Support for School Students

The assessment of student loans is managed by Student Finance England. If you have any queries call on 08456 077577 or visit www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance .

The Local Authority (LA) delegate a small amount of grant funding, to Conyers and Egglescliffe 6th Forms to help students from low income backgrounds to stay in full time education after the age of 16.  Individual Further Education and 6th form colleges hold their own grant funds.

There are also two charitable trusts that are administered by the LA:

  • Alderman Worsley - for students living in the Thornaby area
  • Yarm Grammar for students living in Yarm

There is also a nursery grant available to help fund a child's part time nursery education.

Please contact us for additional information about funding options available.

You might also find the Student Cashpoint website useful - a site designed to help students understand and access funding via 3,000 grants and bursaries. Visit www.studentcashpoint.co.uk for more information.
