Workforce Development (Children's Services)
As a Service we recognise the need to ensure that all those working within the children's workforce have opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge enabling them to perform their role to the maximum effect for the benefit of children, young people and their families. The programmes we offer demonstrate our commitment to provide high quality training and development initiatives in response to identified needs.
The Workforce Development Team provides, delivers and co-ordinates training in the following areas:
Childcare and Early Years
This Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPD) is offered to the private, voluntary and independent early years sector.
School Workforce
This Professional Development Programme for schools reflects the areas of priority and expertise identified both locally and nationally. We believe that developing the capacity for pupils learning is linked directly to improving the capacity for continuous learning for all staff in our schools, seeking to motivate and retain a high quality workforce.
Stockton-on-Tees is a provider of preparation for Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status. Please view the link below for further information.

Safeguarding
The Children's Workforce Multi-Agency Safeguarding Programme commissioned by Stockton Local Safeguarding Children Board is aimed at a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies that come into contact with children and young people. To access the training all participants must be working (paid or unpaid) within the Stockton-on-Tees geographical area.
Social Care
The Social Care Programme is offered to Social Care Staff i.e. social workers, social work managers, family support assistants, contact assistants and residential care officers employed within the Borough of Stockton.
