Apprenticeships

Training Employment Services (TES) offer a broad range of apprenticeships. TES have been training young people since 1982 and support the following business sectors:

  • Business Administration
  • Child Care
  • Care
  • Horticulture
  • Joinery
  • Catering
  • Entry to Employment
  • Maintenance Operations

If you are a young person
An Apprentice learns through a combination of on and off the job education and training. On average an apprenticeship will take about 15 months to complete. During this time you will attend your place of work for four days per week and attend the training centre for one day per week for training towards an NVQ, key skills and technical certificate. To qualify you will need good communication skills and GCSEs grades A-E.

If you are an employer
We are able to offer free training to any of you employees between the ages of 16 and 18. They will follow an approved and nationally accredited apprenticeship framework including NVQ level 2 or 3. We can also offer any employee within your company aged 19 plus an NVQ level 2 qualification under the Train to Gain initiative, free of charge, over a maximum 12 month period.

We have consistently achieved high grades from our awarding bodies (City & Guilds and OCR) who qualify assure the delivery of our qualifications and award certification.

Employment on trial
We have many young people who are interested in seeking employment that would be available for a 6-week trial period. If they prove themselves within this period and you the employer decide to offer them employment, the weekly wage requirement would be a minimum of £80 for one year, as they would be studying towards an Employer Led Apprenticeship.
