Tees Valley Youth Wind Orchestra Friday6.00 - 8.30pm TVMS, Bishopton Road West, Stockton on Tees, TS19 0QH Bob Howitt, Colin Pearson, Paul Judson Further information to follow. - Since it's formation 15 years ago the TVYWO has given many performances in the North East of England
- Of particular note is our participation in the opening of the Samsung Factory at Wynyard, Cleveland by H.M. The Queen, a concert in 2000 with the Bands of the Coldstream Guards and the Kings Division in the City Hall Newcastle upon Tyne and the BBC Radio Cleveland 2005 Carol Service in Middlesbrough Town Hall
- In 1995 the band gave the world premiere in Ripon Cathedral of Martin Ellerby's "Paris Sketches" This piece has since become popular through out the world with more than ten CD recordings.
- Other music composed for TVYWO includes Geoffrey Palmers " March, Lament & Fugue and in conjunction with other bands, Adam Gorb's Concerto for Euphonium and Band, Gary Carpenter's "Flying God Suite" and Christopher Marshall's "Aue"
- The band has toured to Finland where it performed at the Kotka Sea Brass Festival, Scotland, the Czech Republic, Catalonia, Malta and Belgium.
- We have regularly participated in the Regional Festivals of both the National Concert Band Festival and the National Festival of Music Youth being invited to perform at both festivals' national events in Manchester and London.
- We meet at the TVMS Centre on Fridays during term time from 6.00-8.30. New members on all woodwind, brass and percussion instruments are welcome. Students wishing to join the band should be Grade 5 or above.
