School and Leisure Developments at Hardwick
New School
Construction of the fantastic £4million Hardwick Green Primary School is now complete and the transfer from the old school has taken place; the school became fully operational in April 2009 and the official opening event took place in October 2009.
The 210 place state-of-the-art school is also available for community use and forms part of Stockton Council's wider regeneration of Hardwick. For school admission details please contact Hardwick Green Primary School on 01642 677968.
Leisure Developments
The regeneration of Hardwick Green has also seen many improvements to the local environment including work to cycle routes. The first of the three proposed routes has been implemented and links Hardwick Green Primary School to Castle Eden Walkway, part of the national cycleway routes. A brilliant £50,000 funding was donated to this scheme by our development partners, with matched funding from Sustrans, the UK's leading sustainable transport charity.
In response to residents' requests for more leisure facilities for young people, Hardwick Park (formerly Pyramid Park) has been redeveloped and is now complete with a full-size football pitch and multi-use games area (MUGA). The MUGA allows the local community to enjoy many sporting activities including - netball, basketball, 5-a-side football and tennis.
