If your home is unsuitable for your needs

If your home is unsuitable for your needs the Council will assist you in finding a home that meets your requirements.

Applications will be approved under a medical or social need where the present home is unsuitable or where there is a demonstrable and substantial need for a person or family to live in a particular area.

Medical Need
An applicant who is registered on the Council's Housing Register or Transfer Register can apply on medical grounds if the home that they are living in is unsuitable for their needs.

Social Need
An application can be made if there is a need for a person or family to live in a particular area, where this is not a medical need.

An application form can be obtained from Tristar Homes Ltd or the Council's Housing Options team. This must be completed and returned to the Housing Options service. Following this Tristar Homes will contact you when they have identified a suitable property to meet your needs.
