Asylum Seeker Children's Support

This service is provided to children and young people of asylum seeking and refugee families living in Stockton on Tees, to ensure that they do not become marginalised or excluded from the community.



As well as facing a new land, language, culture and isolation, children and young people from asylum seeking and refugee families are unfortunately also experiencing prejudice and racism. Some of the children will also be suffering from trauma due to the life experiences they have been exposed to.



The service helps to develop positive and rewarding relationships between different groups of families and their children. It also helps in accessing appropriate mainstream services.
