Older People
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council aims to promote well-being, independence and safety for older people and their carers.
Stockton Council organises and provides a range of services to support older people living in the borough and their carers. These include:
- information and advice
- assessment of needs
- provision of services whilst the client remains at home (such as home care, day care, sitting service and handyperson service)
- residential or nursing care (including respite care and short breaks)
Instead of services provided through the council people may prefer to receive a Direct Payment where they are paid the equivalent amount of money to arrange their own services specific to their personal situation.
We also provide support and rehabilitation through our Intermediate Care Service to help people regain their functioning resulting from illness, disability or injury.
For more information or to seek support please contact us.
