Services for Adults with Learning Disabilities
Services for adults are provided in a range of different settings, according to the needs and interests of the people using the service.
These services play a vital role for more than 200 people, providing social contact as well as maintaining or developing skills. Apart from the centre bases at Allensway (Thornaby) and Rievaulx (Billingham) and Central Stockton Day Services (Stockton), people use colleges, leisure centres and other community facilities. Activities include basic literacy, crafts, communication skills, sport and relaxation. Some people undertake supported employment - for example, printing or catering.
