Stockton Shopmobility is a registered charity that helps people of all ages, who have mobility problems.
Stockton Shopmobility endeavours to give their clients a better level of independence, while shopping, participating in leisure pursuits or simply meeting friends. To this end they provide, for hire, electric scooters, electric wheelchairs, conventional wheelchairs and walking aids.
For those who cannot manage alone or just prefer not to go out alone, they can provide the services of trained escorts who are only too happy to help. They can also offer long-term hire of the equipment for holidays etc.
Stockton Shopmobility has an Information Point, for guidance on welfare benefits, social care, and consumer issues, as well as a wide range of information covering disability related topics, such as choosing equipment and services.
Abbey Health, who are their retail partners, are established throughout the North East. They are able to supply one of the largest ranges of disability equipment available in the region, as well as servicing, repairs and maintenance. Abbey Health support Shopmobility by giving a generous percentage of their profits to their charity.
Stockton Shopmobility encourage people to join their 'Scoot Safe' campaign and learn how to use their equipment safely and responsibly. They can give training and guidance on the legislation for their particular class of vehicle.
