Extra Care
Extra Care, also known as Housing with Care, is an exciting addition to the range of housing and services available to older people in the UK. Many different models have been developed by over 300 providers across the public, voluntary and private sectors, and innovation continues. Extra Care refers to all forms of specialist housing for older people where care services are provided or facilitated. This includes extra care housing, assisted living, very sheltered housing, close care and continuing care environments, and care villages.
Within the borough of Stockton on Tees there are two extra care facilities, Parkside Court (which is an Anchor Trust scheme) in Thornaby, and Aspen Gardens (which is an Endeavour scheme) in Hardwick. Both have approximately 50 units, a mix of bungalows and apartments.
For more information please contact: Margaret Boyd at Parkside Court on 01642 531998 or Charis Gracie at Aspen Gardens on 01642 633529
