Social Care (Social Services)

Stockton Council's Children Education and Social Care (CESC) team (formerly Social Services) offer support to many people in a wide range of circumstances.

Everyone can get information and advice from us, and many people receive further help.

In delivering help we work very closely with our colleagues in Health.

We support the following groups of people:

  • Older people
  • People with disabilities
  • Carers of all ages
  • People with alcohol and drug issues
  • People with learning disabilities
  • People with mental health issues
  • Children in need

Most of the support we give is aimed at enabling people to maintain their independence and quality of life, in their own home in their local community.

  • Telephone our First Contact Team and ask to speak to an Access Officer. When you speak to one of our Access Officers they will listen to you and provide information and advise regarding what support may be available.

  • Call into our First Contact Team office. (Open Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 5pm and Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm).

  • Complete and submit an online 'Request for Contact from Social Care' form.

  • There is an emergency social work service if you need EMERGENCY support outside of office hours.
