Stockton has excellent transport links and places such as
Whitby, York, Durham and Newcastle are only around 30 to 40 miles
(50-70km) away.
By Rail
Thornaby Station is the Borough's main rail station and is served by regular TransPennine Express services to/from York, Leeds, Manchester and Manchester Airport, and local services to Darlington and Saltburn. Thornaby Station is only a few minutes walk from Stockton town centre and is also served by a shuttle bus service (every 15 minutes, Monday to Friday) and by taxis.
Darlington Railway Station serves as the main connection with regular services from London and Edinburgh, with connecting trains from Darlington linking to Thornaby (for Stockton) and Middlesbrough on a regular basis.
Stockton Station and Billingham Station are served by Northern Rail trains on the Middlesbrough - Hartlepool - Sunderland line.
By Road
The Borough is linked by an excellent transport network. The main motorway routes link to the A19 and A66, both running through Stockton.
By Air
Durham Tees Valley Airport is on the doorstep and literally only 20 minutes drive to the town centre. Newcastle International Airport is 1 hour 15 mins drive on the A1(M). (There is a direct hourly rail service from Manchester Airport to Thornaby).
By Coach
National Express run daily coach services both to and from Stockton and Middlesbrough town centres.
By Sea
P & O Ferries sail daily from Hull to Rotterdam and Zebrugge, while DFDS Seaways sail from North Shields (near Newcastle).
