Warm homes: Stockton-on-Tees
The 'warm homes healthy people' scheme works with people living in the Stockton Borough who may be at risk of cold related illnesses.

- Do you think the cold is having an effect on your health?
Can you get help with fuel poverty?
Dealing with cold weather, keeping homes warm and struggling to pay fuel bills can be a year round worry for many people.
The 'Warm Homes Healthy People' scheme has been set up to help people get the support they need. You may have a broken boiler and suddenly find yourself without heat or hot water, or you may be worried about paying your energy bills. We can put you in touch with the people most able to help with your problem.
If any of the following circumstances apply to you, help may be available:
- Over 75
- Have a disability
- Elderly and live alone
- Low income and cannot afford to heat your home
- Long term illness made worse by the cold
Other help available
Other help that you may be able to access is:
- Emergency heating
- Energy debt advice
- Home Handyperson Service - an agency that can assist with minor repairs
- Advice and support to help keep you healthy and more able to cope with the cold weather
- Buddying/befriending service - volunteers keep in touch with you during cold weather to give you any support you need
