Fairtrade Steering Group

Stockton Council believes that the Fairtrade initiative should be community led and is therefore looking for members of the public to support Fairtrade and join our Fairtrade steering group.

The Fairtrade steering group meets monthly at the Newtown Community Centre at 12.00 noon to discuss Fairtrade issues and organise Fairtrade events across the Borough.

Pictured above, Simeon Greene from the West Indies gave a Stockton audience of more than 100 people an insight into how Fairtrade has helped smaller producers and farmers like himself.

Simeon's talk was the highlight of a special event organised by Stockton Borough Council to promote Fairtrade across Stockton Borough.
