Cavity Wall Insulation
Most properties built around 1930 will have cavity wall
construction - an inner and outer layer of bricks with a small air gap in
between. If this gap is not insulated, it provides an easy route for heat
to escape from the house. Filling the gap with insulation material stops
this heat from escaping, ensuring a warmer home and lower fuel
bills.
How
Bore holes are drilled in the brickwork of each wall to be filled, and the
insulation material injected. There is very little disruption to the inside
of the house and all holes are filled in once the work is complete.
The Material
The cavity is filled with mineral fibre.
The Cost
The cost will depend upon the size and construction of your house.
