Water
Fix dripping taps and leaking pipes to save water. A tap dripping as a result of a worn washer is a waste of money and resources. And washers only cost pennies to replace.
You may be aware that by taking a shower instead of a bath you can use less than half the amount of water. But did you also know that high-pressure showers would use more water, than a bath?
- Replace taps and showerheads with water efficient versions
- Do not use the toilet as a wet-dustbin for personal hygiene products. Flushing sanitary towels and tampons down the toilet wastes loads of water, leads to sea pollution and can cause blockages that can be expensive to clear
- Don't waste water by just washing half a load. If you can't fill the washer at least try to use an economy programme
- Wash at a lower temperature
