Health & Safety Current Initiatives
In conjunction with national policies we carry out 'initiative work' each year targeting certain areas. This is usually based on accident statistics and has the overall aim of advice/education and the raising of awareness as well as accident reduction.
The generic title given to our current project work is FIT3 (Fit for Life; Fit for Work; Fit for Tomorrow).
We have recently worked with the following industries in the borough: hairdressers (dermatitis); food retailers (slips and trips); hotels (slips and trips); post offices (violence); music and entertainment (noise).
This year we will be carrying out the following project work:
- Noise in the music and entertainment industry
- Tanning shops
- Balers/Compactors
- Slips, trips and falls in care homes
- LPG safety in mobile food vehicles
- Betting shops (violence)
For more information (including guidance material and advice/assistance on completing health and safety documentation) regarding any of our FIT3 projects please contact Jonathon Dicken on 01642 526570.
