Animal Welfare Service

Animal Welfare Service includes:

• Stray animals
• Handover of all animals
• Microchipping - low cost and free microchipping
• Dog fouling - education / enforcement
• Promote responsible pet ownership
• Animal welfare issues - cruelty / abandonment / dog attacks etc.
• Animal licensing - boarding / riding / pet shops etc.
• Advice on Urban Foxes

Partnership Organisations

The Animal Welfare Service works in close partnership with all the relevant agencies who deal with Animal Welfare issues. This may be on a local level, but we also have a national presence and are consulted on new, and changes to existing animal welfare legislation.

• The Dogs Trust (formerly NCDL)
• Cats Protection League
• Cleveland Police - Wildlife Liaison Officer
• Dog Training Schools
• Local Veterinary Surgeons
• Bat Rescue
• Ferret Rescue
• Environment Agency
• The Reptile Trust

These are only a few of the agencies that we work alongside in order to improve animal welfare in our area.
