Grangefield Park

There was a good response to the two-day consultation on plans for the regeneration of Grangefield Park that took place in September.

The Council received comments from more than 20 local residents and it was also good to see some input from young people who turned up with some ideas at both sessions.

Some of the main issues raised were:

  • Potential for noise from the multi-use games area
  • Need to maintain tree line between park and allotments
  • Queries over the siting of children's play area
  • Future of the football pitch
  • Possibility of extending improvements to the Oxbridge Community Gardens across the beck
  • More and better seating
  • Better ongoing maintenance of the park

Delivery of the plans is dependant on external funding and we will be investigating all available opportunities.  Initially we will be exploring the possibility of installing extra seating - this is something raised at the consultation and also by a number of older residents.

The Green Project, incorporating a Friends Group for the park has already been established and they have organised two events already.

Please write to us at countrysideandgreenspace@stockton.gov.uk if you are interested in joining the Green Project or would like to comment on the plans.
