Highway Maintenance
The Care For Your Area Highways Team are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of Stockton Borough's primary assets, covering over 771km of Highways Roads and footpaths, 7.5km of open space land, 11 Parks, 31 Play Areas and 17 MUGA's.
We are also responsible for:
- Road and footpath inspection and maintenance
- Surface water gullies
- Street signs and furniture
- Beck's and watercourses
- Inspection and maintenance of parks, play areas, MUGA's (Multi Use Games Area), open spaces and cemeteries
- Annual winter maintenance programme, including gritting and the provision of salt bins
- Skip and scaffold licences and application to open the highway
- Vehicle crossings
- War Memorial inspection and maintenance
- We report problems caused by work carried out by utility companies, including faulty or damaged equipment on the highway

Maintenance of A19 and A66
The A19 and A66 (from A19 - Teesside Park Interchange) is maintained by Autolink on behalf of the Highways Agency.
The A66 (westbound from Teesside Park Interchange) is maintained by A-One Integrated Highway Services on behalf of the Highways Agency.
The A66 (eastbound from A19) is maintained by Middlesbrough Borough Council.
