Parks, Open Spaces and Cemeteries

The Stockton Borough has over 7.48 squre km of open space for the public to enjoy including 11 parks; formal and informal open spaces, countryside and woodland, local nature reserves and highway verges.

Care for Your Area, Highways are responsible for the maintenance of the footpaths and assets within these, including street furntiure, seats, nameplates and fencing.

Care for Your Area, Horticultural Services are responsible for the maintenance of all grassed areas and floral displays.

Cemeteries
As Care for Your Area Highways Department we are responsible for inspecting all footways/walkways, structural assets/street furniture and repair any actionable defects to ensure safety to the public.

The cemeteries we maintain are:-

  • Durham Road Cemetery.
  • Billingham Cemetery.
  • Egglescliffe Cemetery.
  • Thornaby Cemetery.
  • Oxbridge Lane Cemetery.
Grounds Maintenance activities within these cemeteries are carried out by the CFYA Horticultural Services Team.
