The Disease Control (England) Order 2003,
In accordance with Article12 of the above Order the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs authorises by a general licence the movement of Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Deer and Pigs within England, subject to certain conditions.
There are general licences for each species in respect of
cattle,
sheep,
goats,
deer and
pigs. Each licence sets the rules which must be followed on cleansing and disinfection, scheduled stops, animal identification and the movement standstill period, including exemptions.
Where a movement is permitted, it may take place under a general licence except :-
- For movements of livestock where the owner / keeper has been debarred in writing from moving animals under the terms of a general licence, by the Secretary of State.
- For movement of pigs from a market to any other place
All species should be accompanied with a movement document. Cattle should move with a
passport, Sheep/Goats and Deer should move with an
AML1 form and Pigs should be moved with an
AML2 form.
