Asbestos Advice

Asbestos is a natural mineral and has been used in building construction for a number of years because of its fire retardant properties.  New properties are built with asbestos substitutes.

Normally asbestos does not give rise to health problems if it is in good condition, however, if it is damaged, broken, drilled, cut or sanded small fibres can be released which can give rise to long term health problems.

We are able to give advice on the following:-

  • Identification of asbestos materials in the home.
  • Advice on the safe dismantling of asbestos cement structures.
  • Advice on the safe handling and disposal of asbestos materials.

Further information can be found from the frequently asked questions which are shown opposite or from our trained technical staff.
