Community Transport was formed in April 2002 under the Best Value review.The former services of Education Transport, Social Services Transport and Dial-a-ride were brought together to become one Department. The Service is split between an Operational Team who mainly deal with staff andvehicle issues. This includes the management of the day-to-day running of the in-house vehicles, which include Education, Social Services and Dial-a-ride. The Contracts Team deal with all the issues relating to the contracted services of external Taxi and Bus providers of Home to School Transport.
