Following the adoption of the Stockton on Tees Local Plan in 1997, there were significant changes in national planning policy. As these changes were not reflected in the Local Plan, Alteration Number 1 was produced and was adopted by the Council in March 2006.
Alteration Number 1 is particularly concerned with policy on retail and flood risk. The policies contained within it carry the same weight as those in the Local Plan and should be applied alongside it.
Policies in Alteration Number 1 will be 'saved' for three years from the date of its adoption and will be used in determining planning applications until March 2009. Further information on saved and deleted policies can be found here.
The Adopted Draft of Alteration Number 1 can be downloaded below, along with a Retail Study conducted by Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners which informed the policies. Please contact us if you require a map illustrating the policies contained in Alteration Number 1.
