The Yarm and Eaglescliffe Area Action Plan is a Development Plan Document which makes up part of the Local Development Framework. It will address the key pressures and development opportunities within Yarm and Eaglescliffe and will manage change in the area, suggesting sites for different uses, showing how these will relate to each other and setting out design requirements to ensure that any change is well integrated into existing development. The document is intended to help the area meet its potential by ensuring that investment occurs in a comprehensive and co-ordinated way without harming the appeal of the area.
An Issues and Options Report was produced in Spring 2007 and there was a six week consultation period in July and August. We are now considering the comments made and undertaking further work to produce a Preferred Options Report.
Implications of the new Planning Policy Statement 12 and Regulations
We had expected to be consulting on our Preferred Options for the Yarm and Eaglescliffe Area Action Plan in September 2008. However, due to the introduction of the new system and other priorities, we are not going to meet this deadline.
We will be revising our Local Development Scheme and setting a new timetable for this document. The new timetable will be published in due course and will be advertised on our Spatial Planning News and Consultation page.
