Consultation on the Core Strategy Preferred Options report ended on 9 November 2007. Over 100 people and organisations responded - their comments are now available to view at the bottom of this page.
Comments received in response to the consultation on its Preferred Options for the Core Strategy will be used to help the Council prepare the Core Strategy for submission to the Secretary of State for the Environment in 2008. At the time of submission, there will be six-week consultation period when formal representations can be made. About six months after submission, there will be an independent examination into the 'soundness' of the Core Strategy. This will be conducted by a Planning Inspector appointed by the Planning Inspectorate. He will then publish a report of his findings. Before adopting the Core Strategy, the Council will have to change the plan in accordance with any recommendations made by the Inspector.
