Is Building Regulation Approval the same as Planning Permission?
No, Building Regulation approval is entirely separate from the process of obtaining Planning Permission. Building Regulation approval may be required for work regardless of whether or not it is controlled under the Planning legislation and vice versa. Therefore to avoid undue delay you should establish as early as possible if permission is required
