How much will Building Regulations cost?

Building Regulation Fees

* Please see additional resources below for price list information

All Building Regulation Applications require payment unless the work is for the benefit of a disabled person

Full Application:

There are two elements to the charges made for a Full application, the initial payment should be made during the application submission stage (examination fee) and the remaining fee will be invoiced to you once the work commences on site (inspection fee)

 Building Notice:

Building notice fees cost the same as a full application, however the site inspection fee and examination fee are paid in full on submission of the notice. It is not advisable therefore to submit a Building Notice unless you are definitely going to start work, as the fee is non refundable

Regularisation:

Regularisation fees are only applicable to unauthorised work that commenced after 11th November 1985. An extra 35% is required with the Building Notice fee; however this is not subject to VAT

Please note: If an application is submitted with an incorrect fee, we will contact you to either reimburse, or request an additional amount

* An application is deemed invalid until the correct fee is received

Details of the Building Regulation charges system are available upon request and will be supplied with your application forms, or alternatively you may download the fee sheets from the bottom of the Building Control and Regulations page
