All Applications require a fee to be submitted unless the work is for the benefit of a disabled person.
Full Plans There are two elements to the charges made for a Full Plans application, the first being the plan examination fee, which is submitted at the time of making the application. The second is the site inspection fee, which you will be invoiced for after work commences.
Building Notice fees are equal to the total of the plan and site inspection fees, that would be charged for a similar Full Plans application; added together. The fee is required at the time of submitting the notice. It is not advisable therefore to submit a Building Notice unless you are definitely going to start work, as the fee is not refundable if you do not.
Fee Calculator You can determine what fees are required by using our fee calculator spreadsheet in the Downloads section of this page, however you need to have Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software to use it.
Regularisation fees (only applicable to unauthorised work commenced after 11th November 1985) are 120% of the fee that would be required for for a full plans application, when the Plan and Site Inspection fees are added togethar, but are not subject to VAT. They are paid upon submission of the application and before any inspections are carried out.
Incorrect fees. If an application is submitted with an incorrect fee we will contact you to either reimburse any over payment, or request any additional amount required.
An application is deemed invalid if the correct fee is not submitted.
Details of the Building Regulation charges system and amounts payable are available upon request and will be supplied with your application forms, or you can use the fee calculator in the Downloads section of this page.
