Stockton on Tees Borough Council acts on behalf of the insurers in the collection of annual premiums due, the issuing of insurance claim forms and chasing of arrears.
A statement of cover is issued to all mortgagees annually with a letter detailing the new premium due, building cover and rate of IPT (Insurance Premium Tax).
The rates for 2007/2008 for addresses with postcode TS16, 17, 19, 22 are £1.79 per thousand and for addresses with postcode TS15, 18, 20, 21, 23 are £2.27 per thousand.

The premium is divided into 12 instalments and is collected as part of the your monthly instalment as shown on the annual housing advance bill.
