Benefits and Grants
Welfare benefits
The benefits system provides practical help and financial support if you are unemployed and looking for work. It also can provide you with additional income when your earnings are low, if you are bringing up children, are retired, care for someone, are ill or have a disability.
Many people are missing out on benefits that they may be entitled to. Use the link to the Turn2us - Benefits Checker and find out if you could claim any additional help with benefits or tax credits.
Tax credits
Tax credits are payments from the government. If you are responsible for at least one child or young person who normally lives with you, you may qualify for Child Tax Credit. If you work, but earn low wages, you may qualify for Working Tax Credit
