Payment
Direct Debit - The easiest way to pay and recognised as the most cost effective and efficient way to pay your council tax. Simply complete a Direct Debit form, return it to us and we will arrange for payments to be taken directly from your bank account on 1st, 5th, 15th or 28th of each month. Alternatively telephone the direct debit line on 01642 397108 to set up your direct debit payments over the phone.
Bank Standing Order - Contact your bank and instruct them to pay the instalments on your behalf, you will need to provide the Council's bank details and your council tax account number, all of which can be found on your bill.
Telephone - To make payments via our 24 hour automated telephone service ring 0330 555 6780, select option 1 Council Tax and follow the instructions given. Calls to this number are charged at a local rate.
At The Post Office - If you have asked to pay at the Post Office, your Council Tax bill will have a payment barcode on the bottom. Take the bill, together with your payment to any Post Office or Payzone outlet. No charge will be made by the post office for using this facility. Please allow 3 working days for payments to be credited to your Council Tax account. If you wish to change your method of payment to the Post Office please contact Customer Services on 01642 397108.
Internet - Switch, Visa Debit and Credit Cardholders can pay on-line by visiting the Council's website www.stockton.gov.uk.

Your address and Council Tax account number should be written on the back of the cheque. If you need a receipt posting back to you please enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your bill. Please allow three working days from posting for the payment to be credited to your Council Tax account.
In Person - Take your bill and your payment to any of our payment offices located at Billingham Town Centre Housing Office, Thornaby Central Library and Stockton Central Library. Opening hours are 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, with the offices at Stockton and Thornaby opening at 8.30am on a Monday.
