Direct Debit - The easiest way to pay and recognised as the most cost effective and efficient way to pay your council tax. Simply complete a Direct Debit form, return it to us and we will arrange for payments to be taken directly from your bank account on 1st, 5th, 15th or 28th of each month. Alternatively telephone the direct debit line on 01642 524600 to set up your direct debit payments over the phone.
Bank Standing Order - Contact your bank and instruct them to pay the instalments on your behalf, you will need to provide the Council's bank details and your council tax account number, all of which can be found on your bill.
Telephone - To make payments via our 24 hour automated telephone service ring 0845 130 3990, select option 1 Council Tax and follow the instructions given. Calls to this number are charged at a local rate.
At The Post Office - Take your payment "swipe" card together with your payment to any Post Office. Cheques should be made payable to "Post Office Ltd". No charge will be made by the post office for using this facility. Sipe cards can be ordered via Customer Services on 01642 397108. The Post Office take approximately 4 weeks to post the cards and you will need to pay by another method in the meantime.
Internet - Switch, Visa Debit and Credit Cardholders can pay on-line by visiting the Council's website www.stockton.gov.uk
By Post - Please make your cheques, money orders and postal orders payable to:Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, PO Box 500, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 1WA.Your address and Council Tax account number should be written on the back of the cheque. If you need a receipt posting back to you please tell us or enclose your bill.
In Person - Take your bill and your payment to any of our Cash Offices located at Billingham Town Centre Housing Office, Thornaby Town Centre Library and Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton.Cash office opening hours are 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
