What did we did in 2008/2009 and how well did we do it?
Standard: To see visitors in reception within 4 minutes of arrival.
Performance: We dealt with 1,500 visitors to our reception area, 98.5% were seen within 4 minutes of arrival
Standard: To ensure that all bills issued are accurate.
Performance: We issued over 143,000 bills, 98.5% of those monitored were issued correctly
Standard: To amend your account within 10 days of receiving the information
Performance: We processed 54,000 amendments 98.2% of which were actioned within 10 days
Standard: To issue a refund within 5 working days.
Performance: We issued 5,900 refunds 99.8% of refunds were issued within 5 days
Standard: To collect 99.7% of Business Rates
Performance: We collected 99%
Standard: To collect 97.3% of Council Tax
Performance: We collected 97%
The Taxation Service is committed to improving performance, the management team meets on a monthly basis and identifies any dips in performance and addresses these to promote continued improvement. We have not quite achieved the collection levels we achieved in 2007/2008. The credit crunch has affected many households and businesses and to help our customers we have agreed longer term payment arrangements where appropriate which has impacted on in-year collection levels. We will continue to monitor collection levels throughout the year.
