Bills are sent out in March with payments to start in April.
- 10 monthly instalments where the demand notice is issued before the 30th April,
- where the notice is issued after the 1st May but before the 31st December the number of instalments will be the number of whole months left in the year less one,
- where the demand notice is issued between the 1st January and the 31st March the whole amount becomes payable in a single instalment on a specified day which is not less than 14 days after the issue of the notice,
- where a demand notice is issued after the end of a year there is no entitlement to instalments under this scheme.
- Council tax bills must be issued at least 14 days before the due date of the instalment
The instalments are payable each month, without interruption, but the day of the month can be decided by the authority and need not be the same each month. However, the demand notice must specify the days and months on which each instalment is due.
In Stockton we offer payment weekly, fortnightly and 12 monthly, however customers must sign an application form for such an agreement.
Our instalment dates are between the 1st and 5th of the Month with the exception of payments made by Direct Debit which can be made on the 1st,5th,15th and 28th of the month.
