Administration at Stockton

The National-Non Domestic Rate (or Business Rates) is set annually by the Government but collected by local councils and then paid into a central pool administered by the Government. A share of this income is then re-distributed to Stockton Council and along with other sources of revenue is used to pay for local services.

The Council's Non-Domestic Rating office is based at Kingsway House in Billingham town centre. We collect rates from 4,500 non-domestic properties situated within the borough. Accurate and up to date records, rapid processing of bills and prompt but sensitive recovery action enable us to achieve high collection rates.
