Stockton Council serves the towns of Stockton, Norton, Billingham, Thornaby, Ingleby Barwick and Yarm
The Trust was set up in 1947 under the will of the late John Stapleton Worsley, a County Alderman of the former North Riding of Yorkshire County Council. The Trust was originally to support the education of residents of Thornaby on Tees.
Tees Valley Community Foundation now has responsibility for the Fund and operates an annual bursary to support a student from Stockton intending to study a full time undergraduate degree at any UK University.
Applications for Bursaries are now closed and will reopen early 2015 for the September 2015 academic year, please visit the Tees Valley Community Foundation website for details.
This was established in 1983, to help students under 25 with their study costs. The Trustees meet twice a year (each January and July) to consider applications and make awards.
