Payments to Suppliers

Do you have a query relating to an outstanding invoice or payment recently made to you. If so please get in touch with us by email or telephone (see Who to Contact).

Payment methods currently available to you are:

  • Payment by cheque
  • Payment by BACS (Bank Automated Clearing Service)

Within Stockton on Tees Borough Council BACS has been available as a payment method for the settlement of creditor invoices since 1998. Since that time as part of our drive towards service efficiencies and in response to the Government's "modernising agenda" we have actively been targeting more and more of our creditors to accept payment by BACS. Additionally we will be looking at electronic payment initiatives.

The advantages of BACS for you

  • Payments go directly into your bank account electronically. A remittance is issued detailing what the payment is for.
  • No waiting for cheques to clear or the inconvenience of having to pay cheques into your bank.
  • Less risk of payments going astray. BACS is a lot safer.
  • Payments are accessible immediately.
  • Completion of one form required and we can arrange for payments to be directed to your bank.

Change to BACS today

It could not be simpler. Please contact us and ask for a BACS Payment Request Form. Just provide your bank details and return it to us. Unfortunately as this is not a secure site we are unable to accept return by email currently. Stockton-on Tees Borough Council accepts no responsibility for any fraudulent use of information supplied if you fail to note this advice. Please post your form as per the details under How to Contact Us.

For more information on BACS see external Links.
