Contract Procedure Rules (Standing Orders)

To ensure fair competition and achieve value for money, all contracts over £75,000 (supplies and services) and over £100,000 (works) are competitively tendered.  The only exception to this is where a reason not to competitively tender for a contract has been agreed and financial regulations have been waived.

For contracts under £75,000 (supplies and services) and under £100,000 (works) and over £6,000, at least 3 written quotes must be obtained, however the principle of competition still applies.
